Ibtisan, 6, attends remedial classes at the Latin School of Ashrafieh, in Amman, Jordan.br/ br/ She came to the Caritas classes in December not knowing the numbers and now she likes math and knows how to count to five. She wants to become a teach when she grows up.br/ br/ At this school Caritas Jordan, with the support from Catholic Relief Services (CRS), offers remedial classes for refugee children Monday through Wednesday in the afternoons.br/ br/ The remedial classes are part of the Educational and Protection for Syrian Refugees Project that has support from CRS.br/ br/ The remedial classes are intensive classes for children 6 to 12 years old who are enrolled into public schools but are are risk of drop out for the difficult curriculum in comparison with the Syrian one. The goal of this classes is to empower students and prevent drop-out.
