CRS Rice Bowl photography shoot with a group of women from Ejido Hidalgo, a village near Matehuala, Mexico. They have created a cactus business with the help of Respuesta Alternative and a student group from University of Mexico, Vera Cruez. The students have made a sale to Walmart for Mother’s Day and the women are preparing the cacti for this sale.

These women also belong to a savings group, Las Rosas del Ejido. Maria Nieves Lugo Martinez, one of the four Martinez sisters, four of which belong to this group of women, lends her home to the group once or twice a month for this savings club. The meeting is always opened with a prayer.
