At St. Mathias Catholic School in Bedobo, Eastern Cameroon, students receive a lesson in politics from their teacher, Martine Claire Beyala.

Like many teachers at private schools in the region, Martine was recruited from an outside community and stays at a guest house adjacent to the school. Over time, this guest house, and many others like it, has deteriorated and this discourages teachers from staying at the school.

Catholic Relief Services (CRS) is renovating the home and will make improvements to the school so teachers stay at the schools longer and students have an improved environment for learning.

CRS Cameroon will implement the project in partnership with local partner, the Comite Diocesain des Activites Sociales et Caritatives (CODASC) - Batouri.
