Fisherman Benito Aima, 67 holds his fishing nets next to his boat. It used to be moored in several feet of water.

In December 2015, the former Lake Poopo completely dried up. Suggested causes of the current drying include drought due to climate change, as well as diversion of water for mining and agriculture.

In March of 2016 a CRS team visited the area to interview local fisherman about the loss of the lake and it's impact on their life.
