CRS staff visit the region of Tahoua, Niger to supervise the Global Fund Malaria project on November 24 and 25, 2016. Both the Global Fund malaria program and ACCESS-SMC (Achieving Catalytic Expansion of Seasonal Malaria Chemoprevention in the Sahel) activities are implemented in this district.
The nurse in charge of the community health center is doing a rapid diagnostic test on this little girl, aged 3. The test shows that she has malaria. She receives a free ACT treatment.
Half the world’s population —more than three billion people — are at risk for malaria. CRS' malaria programs focus on prevention, testing, diagnosis and treatment.
