Under a three-year food security project funded by the European Union, CRS works in 21 communities in Bamiyan and Ghor provinces, with the goal of reaching about 900 Afghan families.
The project began in January 2014.
Farmer field schools are part of the food security project. The aim of the farmer field schools is to improve the cultivation practices of farmers in these communities so that there is a greater quantity of local staple foods. These field schools provide farmers training on everything from seed cultivation to proper storage techniques.
