Colleta Mukankundiye picks coffee cherries in her field in Nyirakiraro Village, Rwanda. Catholic Relief Services and our local Caritas partners are providing support to help improve coffee crop production in the region and to increase access to financial services. The project is supported by Keurig Green Mountain.

Since 1987, the Rwanda coffee sector has faced a decrease in production and a deterioration of the quality of coffee being produced. In general, the low coffee yield results from the use of inefficient agricultural techniques that include insufficient supply of inorganic fertilizers and organic manure, as well as inadequate pruning and processing techniques.
