UAV operator Jacob Petersen from Danoffice IT shows CRS staff Thierry Yabi(on his left ) and cashew farmers how to fly a UAV.
A pilot for using Unmaned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) in agriculture programming was conducted on February 20- 23, 2017. The pilot was a collaboration between NetHope and CRS in Benin for a project that addresses Cashew productivity. Three farmers fields were flown. The imagery was shown to partners to reflect on how it can be used in programming. CRS wrote an external communication piece that reflects on how UAVs can be used to increase program monitoring and targeted follow up on farmers fields.
